Neretva is the only river in Dinara mountain system which springs far beyond coastal mountains (200km) and flows directly into the sea. It is the only delta in Croatia and one of the last swamp habitats which makes it internationally important. The delta of Neretva is a fertile valley containing a web of channels between tangerine orchards.

Sage is the most widespread plant on the Island of Pag and can be found on all surfaces naked of grass such as hills and rocks. The name sage (Salvia Officinalis-L) comes from Latin word "salvare" meaning "to save". It dates back to the Egyptian times when it was considered a symbol of fertility.

The Island of Vis is famous for its fishermen, ecologically clear sea, vast numbers of sunken ships which are part of the protected submarine area and miraculous sights of marine flora and fauna. One can find rosemary plant (Rosmarinus Officinalis L-sea dew) which is believed to protect from evil and spells and is traditionally worn in wedding ceremonies as a symbol of faithful love. According to a legend an angel gave recipe for making "rejuvenating wash" to Hungarian queen Elisabeth which contained rosemary.
